POLISH ANIMATED FILMS AT THE FESTIVAL STOPTRIK
Today starts the new edition of the festival Stoptrik. This year, the festival will be held in two locations: traditionally, in Slovenian Maribor and - for the first time - in Lodz.
Stoptrik IFF is an international stop motion animation festival, which was born in the squat alternative culture centre in Maribor in 2011. Since 2012, the festival formula was extended to include two-stage, professional stop motion animation workshops and the international short animated film competition. Stoptrik is a space for free exchange of inspiration and learning of the creative workshop, open to all, a festival of cinema lovers facilitating authentic dialogue between artists and the audience. At the moment, StopTrik IFF is the only stop motion animated film festival in Europe. It is not only the space dedicated to the art of stop motion, where the achievements of artists from around the world are presented, but the festival is also a platform for sharing and promoting of this exceptional art form. Throughout the year, StopTrik IFF organises presentations of the programme "Best of StopTrik" at various film festivals and cultural events, hosts the screenings of excellent and intriguing film programmes in the festival locations and promotes Polish and Slovenian art of animation abroad.
International Stop Motion Competition and the Borderlands Competition are held in Maribor from October 27 to October 30, 2016.
In the international competition, among 31 other films, there are: "Locus" by Anita Kwiatkowska-Naqvi, "Leaven" by Artur Hanaj, "Cosmos" by Daria Kopiec, "The Sculpture of the Day" by Monika Kuczyniecka, "Woolen Cogwheels" by Bartosz Kędzierski and the animated film "Endopterygota" by Natalia Leszewicz.
In the Borderlands Competition, the audience will watch the film "Monument" by Marcin Giżycki.
The programme Panorama includes "Glitch" by Mikołaj Sęczawa and "Rattlesnake Moan" by Natalia Brożyńska.
