POLISH ANIMATIONS AT THE NOVEMBER INTERNATIONAL FESTIVALS

If you thought that a lot was going on in October, then get ready for November! Fans of good animations will have nothing to complain about. Polish productions will be shown all over the world, but this month mainly in Europe. Be sure to check where and which Polish films will compete for awards and the hearts of the audience in November.

The turn of October and November is the end of several festivals where you could see our animations. One of them was EUROPE, In Shorts: Escape in Great Britain, where Tomek Popakul's "Acid Rain" was shown, or the Swedish REX Animation Film Festival with Julia Orlik's "I'm Here" and Katarzyna Warzecha's "We Have One Heart". The Big Cartoon Festival is still in progress in Russia, where the jury will judge "Colaholic" by Marcin Podolec, "Such a Beautiful Town" by Marta Koch and  “Vanilla/Whip" by Bogna Kowalczyk. The latter animation will also appear on the program of the Wiesbaden International Festival of Animation. The German festival will also include the "Portrait of Suzanne" by Izabela Plucińska and the "Portrait of a woman" by Natalia Durszewicz.

One of the most important events for Polish animation will be the Leeds Film Festival. The viewers there will watch thirteen Polish short animations. The competition includes "We have one heart" by Katarzyna Warzecha and "The Land Of Whim" by Betina Bożek, while the non-competition sections will showcase: "Creatures" by Tessa Moult-Milewska, "Fences" by Natalia Krawczuk, "XOXO - kisses and hugs" by Wiola Sowa, "Locus" by Anita Kwiatkowska-Naqvi, "Evening" by Izabela Plucińska, "Bernard" by Anna Oparkowska, "Three Women On A Bench" by Karolina Borgiasz, "III" by Marta Pajek, "Squaring The Circle" by Karolina Specht, "Bless You!" Paulina Ziółkowska, "The Land Of Whim" by Betina Bożek and "Story" by Jola Bańkowska. You can read more about the event here.

At the same time, Cork International Film will be showing Daria Kopiec's “Your Own Bullshit” in Ireland, and Katarzyna Warzecha's 'We Have One Heart' will be shown at Romanian Animest - Bucharest International Animation Film Festival.

It will be a very successful month for Marta Koch's film. "Such A Beautiful Town" will first be seen in Portugal at Cinanima - International Animated Festival of Espinho, where the program also includes "Vitae Azilia" by Joanna Wapniewska and "Red Light Train" by Alicja Kot. Later, Koch will be showcased to the viewers of the Argentinean Bit Bang Fest 2020. The local audience, along with the jury, will also see the films "My Fat Arse And I" by Yelyzaveta Pysmak and "Bless You!" Paulina Ziółkowska. "Such A Beautiful Town" will also visit the Spanish ZiNEBI festival. She will compete for the awards with Katarzyna Warzecha's "We Have One Heart".

The second week of November will be marked by the 36th edition of the Interfilm festival in Berlin, as part of which will be Focus on Poland. The program includes almost 40 Polish short films. More information can be found here.

At this time, another edition of the Norwegian ReAnima will take place - Bergen International Animation Festival. "The Land Of Whim" by Betina Bożek was invited to the competition there. In Belgium, on the other hand, during the Brussels Pink Screens Film Festival, viewers will see Karina Paciorkowska's "You Are Overreacting". At our western neighbors, during the Film School Fest Munich, as many as three Polish animations will be presented in the competition - "I am here" by Julia Orlik, "My Fat Arse And I" by Yelyzaveta Pysmak and "Portrait of a woman" by Natalia Durszewicz.

On the same day, October 13, Shorts That Are Not Pants and the Chicago International Children's Film Festival begin in Canada and the USA. The former will feature Jola Bańkowska's "Story", and the latter will host Marta Szymańska's "Tango Of Longing" and Karolina Specht's "Squaring The Circle".

The second half of the month will be inaugurated by a hybrid version of the Krakow festival Etiuda & Anima. In the competition we will see Natalia Krawczuk's "Metro", Julia Orlik's "I'm Here", Tomek Ducki's "Plantarium", Mateusz Jarmulski's  “The Hunt" and Katarzyna Warzecha's "We Have One Heart".

Three Polish short animations were invited to the competitions of this year's PÖFF Shorts. Estonian audiences will see "The Windows Of That House" by Urszula Domańska, "I'm Here" by Julia Orlik and "Observation Point" by Aleksander Józefczyk.

In November, the 27th edition of the Court C'est Court Short Film Festival will also take place, where "Bless You!" will be showcased. Paulina Ziółkowska. In Portugal, however, OLHO Animation Film Festival will feature "Story" by Julia Bieńkowska and "Tango Of Longing" by Marta Szymańska.

Two more French festivals will take place at the end of the month. During the Festival International Séquence Court-Métrage you will be able to see "Portrait of Suzanne" by Izabela Plucińska, and at Fête de l'anim "I am here" by Julia Orlik and "Marbles" by Natalia Spychała.

Barbara Rupik's animation will have two chances for awards. "The Little Soul" will visit Phenomena Festival in Brazil and Bucharest International Experimental Film Festival BIEFF in Romania.
