"MY FAT ARSE AND I" WINS AT CANNES
After numerous perturbations, the most famous festival in the world began to slowly announce the results of individual competition sections in a significantly changed formula. One of them is the Cinefondation student film competition. The second prize in this extremely prestigious section went to Yelyzaveta Pysmak from the Łódź Film School.
Cannes Film Festival is one of the most important and prestigious film events in the world. Every year, the selection committee receives a record number of applications for each section. This year the festival is taking place in a rather unusual way, in dispersion. Some of the events took place online, and some of the competition screenings were and will be screened at other film events taking place this year.
The section to which the animation "My Fat Arse And I" was invited is intended for student films. The awarded animation was made by a student of the State Film School in Łódź
The animation by Yelyzaveta Pysmak follows the story of a girl who one day discovers that she has a problem with her pants. The girl is shocked, in the mirror she sees her reflection as a huge fat pig. She immediately decides to follow a strict diet. No candy, no cola, just water with a little lemon. She is doing well, but along with fat of the joy in her life disappears. However, being unhealthily skinny, she still does not hold back. The girl now resembles a zombie who, not knowing what she is doing, drags herself at night to the refrigerator that haunts her dreams. During one of the fridge seduction, the girl is presented with the Angel of the Western Kingdom with a royal invitation to the ceremony.
