POLISH FILMS AT THE DOKUFEST
As many as eight Polish short films will be shown at this year's edition of the Dokufest in Kosovo. There will be no lack of animated, feature and documentary films.
The Dokufest International Documentary and Short Film Festival has been held since 2002 in Prizren. Initially, the festival focused on presenting the documentary cinema from around the world, but with time it widened its formula to include short and animated films.
Polish films have been presented at the Dokufest from its very beginning, it is also the case this year when there are as many as seven Polish productions and one animated co-production in the programme. In the documentary film competition, the audience will have a chance to watch "Horse Riders" by Anna Gawlita. In turn, the animated film "Acid Rain" by Tomek Popakul and the feature film "Boys with Butterflies" by Marcin Filipowicz will compete for the best short film award at the festival.
In the non-competing section addressed to the young viewers, there are three Polish animated films and one feature film. The young cinemagoers will watch: "Story" by Jola Bańkowska, "Squaring the Circle" by Karolina Specht, "A World that Flew Away on the Back of a Cow" by Wojciech A. Hoffman and "Skinny" by Daniel Stopa. Among the films invited to this section, there is also a Polish co-production - "The Kite," directed by Martin Smatana.
The 18th edition of the Dokufest is held from the 2nd to the 10th of August.
