POLISH ANIMATED FILMS AT THE INTERNATIONAL FESTIVALS IN JULY

Italy, Poland, Croatia, France, and even Australia, Brazil and Mexico. It is there where you can watch Polish short animated films in July.

On the 6th of July starts the 12th International Animated Film Festival Animator in Poznan. The films which compete for the awards at this festival, wholly dedicated to the animation, are: "Hunt" by Mateusz Jarmulski, "Acid Rain" by Tomek Popakul, "Year" by Małgorzata Bosek-Serafińska, "Last Supper" by Piotr Dumała, "Idol" by Grzegorz Koncewicz and Marek Serafiński, "Portrait of Susanne" by Izabela Plucińska and "Story" by Jola Bańkowska. The last of the aforementioned animated films is also invited to the  Guanajuato International Film Festival in Mexico.

The week after the festival Animator starts the Canadian Fantasia International Film Festival and the Croatian 17th Tabor Film Festival. To the former festival, the following films are invited: "An eye for an eye" by Julia Płoch, and to the latter, "Three Women on a Bench" by Karolina Borgiasz and "Room" by Michał Socha.

On the 13th of July, the Melbourne International Animation Festival begins. Five Polish films are invited to the competition at this festival. The jury will have a chance to award: "Tango of Longing" by Marta Szymańska, "Thicket" by Adrianna Matwiejczuk, "Squaring the Circle" by Karolina Specht, "Nebula" by Marcin Nawrotka and "Bless You!" by Paulina Ziółkowska.

Five days after the Australian festival, the Anima Mundi begins in Brazil. In the programme, there are as many as six Polish animated films. The films "Tango of Longing" by Marta Szymańska, "Colaholic" by Marcin Podolec and "Rain" by Piotr Milczarek will have yet another chance to win awards. In the remaining sections, the viewers will see "Squaring the Circle" by Karolina Specht,    "You Are Overreacting"     by Karina Paciorkowska and "Last Supper" by Piotr Dumała.  

In the second half of July, the 15th edition of Lago Film Fest - International Festival of Independent Cinema is held.  "Bless You" by Paulina ZIółkowska is invited to the competition at the festival. In the non-competing sections, the animated films "Thicket" by Adrianna Matwiejczuk and "Eatself" by Edyta Adamczak will be shown.

The end of the month will be particularly hot for Marcin Podolec. In addition to the Anima Mundi, his animation "Colaholic" is also included in the competition at the Croatian Supertoon International Animation Festival and the French ONE Country ONE Film International Festival.
