“AIRBORNE” WINS IN JAPAN
Andrzej Jobczyk's film was named the best short animated film at the prestigious and Oscar-qualifying Short Shorts Film Festival & Asia 2022.
Short Shorts Film Festival & Asia is one of the most important and largest events dedicated entirely to short films on the continent. The first edition was held in 1999. Since then, the festival has started to grow and gain prestige, making the event land on the prestigious list of Oscar-qualifying events.
Thanks to the latter, Andrzej Jobczyk's winning animated film has a change to be on the Oscar list next year. Airborne, the awarded production, is a surreal animated film that combines the world of flying machine with the animal and plant kingdom. A fighter pilot loses track of his target and crashes. The plane crashes into a tree crown. It's a tragedy that seems to be the end but instead opens a new chapter of the story. New life awakens at the crash site destined to uncover the mystery of its origin. Airborne is a story about passion, its roots, and what we have to lose in order to be born again.
