"I AM HERE" WITH AUDIENCE AWARD

This year's Animator festival had just announced its winners. The audience award in the international competition went to Julia Orlik.

Animator Festival is the largest film event in Poland devoted entirely to animation. The festival traditionally takes place in July, but given the current situation, its date has changed, and the whole event took place in a hybrid form.

During the festival week, about 140 events, 80 competition films and a total of 200 productions waited for the audience. There were quite a few Polish productions among the selected films. Most of them could be seen in the Animator PL competition, but also in the international one,  that also included Polish animations. One of them was Julia Orlik's story appreciated by the audience.

The protagonist of "I'm Here" is an elderly man who looks after his paralyzed wife. Despite his old age and his own health problems, he tries her best to alleviate her suffering, which is getting stronger every day. He is helped by his daughter, who tries to reconcile care with work in the hospital and her family life. Each of them has different views on what patient care should be like, which leads to many arguments.
