MARIUSZ WILCZYŃSKI'S RETROSPECTIVE AT BERGAMO FILM MEETING
A retrospective of one of the most interesting Polish animators, Mariusz Wilczyński, will take place during this year's Bergamo Film Meeting. 11 films by Wilczyński were included in the programme.
Bergamo Film Meeting begins on 9 March and will last for four days - during this time the audience of the Italian festival will have a lot of events to choose from. Apart from the work of the Polish animator and graphic, the festival will also present a retrospective of an accomplished French actor Jean-Pierre Léaud. Special film screenings will also take place in Bergamo, including "Metropolis" by Fritz Lang.
Mariusz Wilczyński is a Polish animation director and performer. His retrospectives were presented around the world in places like Museum of Modern Art in New York, National Gallery in London, Babylon Kreuzberg in Berlin, National Museum in Warsaw, and at various festivals including: Berlinale, New Horizons in Wroclaw, Holland Animation Film Festival in Utrecht, Edinburgh Festival and Mill Valley Film Festival in San Francisco. Wilczyński also creates live animation, presenting it on huge screens, during the screenings nicknamed "Wilkanoc" where he invites musicians to put on with them an improvised show.
