San Sebastian International Film Festival is one of the most important film events in the world. The first edition was held in 1953, and since then, the festival was visited by the most important stars of the international cinema, both by directors and actors, who created a cosmopolitan and glamorous atmosphere.
The international co-production "Another day of life" is a thrilling story of a three-month expedition of the outstanding reporter Ryszard Kapuściński to the war-ridden Angola, where chaos reigns and where the front line changes every second. In accordance with the book, the viewer begins the journey with Kapuściński in 1975 from Luanda, the capital city of Angola. Decolonisation after the Portuguese Carnation Revolution is underway. The Portuguese leave the city's luxury neighbourhoods in a hurry. They are terrified of the perspective of an attack on the capital of the country. They pack all their belongings into wooden chests. In Luanda, shops are closed, emergency services disappear, mountains of rubbish grow. Every day, Kapuściński sends dispatches to the Polish Press Agency from the abandoned city. In the end, he sets out on a deadly dangerous journey upcountry. Barely escaping with his life, he realises that he is a witness of events which would require him to go beyond the role of an observer. Can a reporter hold back a sensational discovery for the sake of a greater good?
