GYROS DANCE AT CINANIMA
The festival Cinanima announced the results of the selection to the international competition. This year, "Gyros Dance" by Piotr Loc Hoang Ngoc will compete for the award.
The International Animated Film Festival Cinanima is held since 1976. This year, from among 1331 submissions from 71 countries, 49 short films and 4 feature-length films were selected to the international competition. The competition consists of six categories: films up to 5 minutes, films from 5 to 25 minutes long, films from 24 to 50 minutes long, student films, commissioned films, and feature films - longer than 50 minutes. Among the selected films, the viewers will have a chance to watch "Gyros Dance" by Piotr Loc Hoang Ngoc. The event is accompanied by workshops, exhibitions and performances. The 40th edition of this largest and oldest Portuguese festival is held this year from November 7 to 13 in Espinho.
"Gyros Dance" presents the attitudes of the representatives of the middle class, their dreams and the prose of life, which is enlivened by the glossy television broadcasts, seducing the viewers with their glamour aesthetics. The film was produced by FUMI Studio.
Piotr Loc Hoang Ngoc was born in Vietnam. He is the graduate of Polish National School of Art in Warsaw and a student of Lodz Film School. Director and scriptwriter, author of several animated films, among others, "Python in Wonderland" (2010) and "Steven and the beetle" (2012). "Gyros Dance" is his MA degree, for which he received the special mention at the festival the Young and the Cinema.
