POLISH PRESENCE IN ANNECY

Tomorrow in French Annnecy the animation market MIFA will start. The proffessionalsvisiting the market will get the opportunity of meeting Polish producers at the national stand. Polish Animations stand will be open until Friday, 13th June.

MIFA Market organized annually in frames of Annecy Animation Film Festival is one of the biggest industry meeting spots on the map of animation centered events organized worldwide. It is a fourth year now that Poland is one of the market exhibitors. The Polish Animations stand organized by Krakow Film Foundation gathers producers representing eight production companies. Among the producers visiting the market there are representatives of Se-Ma-For Film Production, Studio Miniatur Filmowych, Animoon, Fumi Studio, Human Ark, WJTeam, Anima Art and GS Animation.

Every year MIFA is one of the top spots on the map of the events devoted to animation production that brings together the industry milieu from all over the world. Among the exhibitors there are both production companies as well as those presenting new technologies. The market is visited by the producers, commissioning editors as well as buyers and animators searching for potential collaborators. Just like every year the programme includes also many meetings and workshops, masterclasses and “making of” presentations.

Although the market willl open tommorrow it was yesterday when the 38th edition of the oldest and one of the most prestigious festivals worldwide devoted entirely to animated films kicked off. This year again Polish films were selected to screen at the festival. `Hippos` by Piotr Dumała and `Ex animo` by Wojciech Wojtkowski will screen as a part of the Short Film Competition while `An incredibly elastic man` by Karolina Specht and `Thin and skinny` by Aleksandra Brożyna will represent Poland in the Graduation Film Competition. Moreover a numerously awarded `Baths` by Tomek Ducki will form a part of the non competitive section.

The organization of Polish Animations stand is cofinanced by the Polish Film Institute, the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage and Krakow Festival Office.
