POLISH FILMS AT THE DOKUFEST KOSOVO FESTIVAL

The documentary and short film festival Dokufest has just started in Kosovo. As it happens every year, Polish elements will be present in the programme.

For ten years, Dokufest has taken place in Prizren in Kosovo, and it is the biggest film event in this small, independent Balkan country. Initially, the main focus of the festival was presenting the documentary cinema from around the world; later on the scope of the festival was enlarged to include short and animated films. Polish films are shown at the Dokufest festival from its very beginning, but this year the organizers decided to show the Kosovo audience a special series dedicated to the Polish cinema. Within the frames of the "Made in Poland" programme, prepared in co-operation with Krakow Film Fundation, the following documentary films will be shown: Returns, directed by Krzysztof Kadłubowski, North from Calabria, directed by Marcin Sauter, Andrzej Wajda: Let's shoot, directed by Maciej Cuske, Marcin Sauter, Thierry Paladino, Piotr Stasik, A Piece of Summer, directed by Marta Minorowicz, Argentinian Lesson, directed by Wojciech Staroń, short films: Frozen Stories by Grzegorz Jaroszuk and Without Snow by Magnus von Horn as well as animated films: Millhaven directed by Bartek Kulas, Noise, directed by Przemysław Adamski and The Gallery, directed by Robert Proch. Additionally, "Frozen Stories" will contend for the award in the festival competition.

Wojciech Staroń will be the special guest at the festival; on Friday, 13th July, he will give the master class on camera work in documentary film.

Let us remind, that last year the award for the best short-length documentary film went to Out of Reach by Jakub Stożek.

The festival will last until 14th July.
