CASPERADE AT THE KIDS FILM FESTIVAL

This year, the Kids Film Festival is held for the third time, from 17 to 25 September. In the programme, there are films from around the world, selected for viewers aged 4-13 years old, including the TV series Casperade.

The festival, organised by the New Horizons Association, will come to 27 cities and over 30 cinemas. In the competition, eight feature-length films will vie for the best film award, including two of them coming straight from this year's Berlinale. You can see the competition screenings in all festival cities. Also the protagonists of short films will compete - in a couple of cinemas, the young viewers will have a chance to choose their favourite protagonists.

In the programme of the Kids Film Festival, there is the première of the five episodes of "Casperade" - a Polish TV series based on the short stories about little rascals by Grzegorz Kasdepke. The TV series is inspired by the best-seller novels by Grzegorz Kasdepke, a popular author of books for children and teenagers. So far, "Casperade" received a special mention for the best television series at Junior Co-Production Market / Cinekid Festival in Amsterdam. In 2014, it also won two prestigious awards for the best children's production at the festivals OFAFA and O!PLA. The pilot episode was shown, among others, at the prestigious animated film festival in Annecy, France, and at Ayjal Youth Film Festival in Qatar.  The development of the series is supported by Polish Film Institute and the MEDIA programme. Casperade is a story about a seemingly ordinary family, whose everyday life, however, is filled with craziness.  It is a warm-hearted and funny series for children, with an optimistic message, promoting positive values. The directors of the series are Wojtek Wawszczyk, Kamil Polak, Jakub Tarkowski, Tomasz Leśniak and Michał Śledziński. The series was produced by the studio Human Ark.
