ANIMATED FILM FESTIVALS IN JULY

In spite of holiday season, this month Polish animated films have a chance to win more festival awards. In July await us almost 40 screenings, which will be held at twelve film festivals.

The festival July will be initiated by two festivals - Italian festival Euganea, where "Baths" by Tomek Ducki will be shown in the competition, and the 23rd edition of the festival Curtas Vila do Conde. As every year, Krakow Film Foundation prepared a special screening, within the frames of which five short films will be shown, including "But she's nice" by Tomasz Pilarski and "under_construction" by Marcin Wojciechowski. The festival ends on July 12.

On July 10 started the eighth edition of the festival Animator, which is the largest Polish festival showing only animated films. In the international competition at the festival, one can see, among others, "Blue Room" by Tomasz Siwiński, "Creatures" by Tessa Moult-Milewska and "Home" by Agnieszka Borowa. Polish films will compete with films from other countries for the Golden Pegasus.  The winners will be announced on July 16.

This month, Polish films wandered as far as Brazil, where the audience of the festival Anima Mundi will have a chance to watch two films: "To Thy Heart" by Ewa Borysewicz and "Blue Room" by Tomasz Siwiński.

At the film festival in Sopot, two Polish films will participate in the international short film competition: "Home" by Agnieszka Borowa and "Three Kings" by Anna Błaszczyk. The 15th edition of the festival lasts to July 19.

At the end of the month, at the Italian festival Tako Film Festival five Polish films will be shown in the competition. Four of them are productions of the Fumi Studio in Warsaw: "Home", "Endemit's Greed",  "The Tenement Building" and "Fat and Skinny". In the same competition, there is also "Gucio Zaczarowany" directed by Daria Wiktoria Kopiec. The festival will be held in the Italian Sala Consilina from 24 to 25 July. Also in Italy, from July 24 to 1 August, the 11th edition of the festival Lago will be held. There, three Polish films will be shown in the competition: "To Thy Heart" by Ewa Borysewicz, "An Incredibly Elastic Man" by Karolina Specht and "Of A Forest" by Katarzyna Melnyk.

At the turn of July and August, the 15th edition of the festival New Horizons will be held in Wrocław. In the short film competition, we will see, among others,  "Fences" by Natalia Krawczuk, "Domestication" by Sylwia Gaweł and "Woolen Cogwheels" by Bartosz Kędzierski.
