MAŁGORZATA RYBAK’S ANIMATION RECEIVES A SPECIAL MENTION AT CLERMONT-FERRAND
A Polish animated film has been honored at the 48th Clermont-Ferrand International Short Film Festival – the world’s largest short film festival and the second biggest film event in France after Cannes.
Held from January 30 to February 7, 2026, the festival attracts around 160,000 viewers and industry professionals each year. Its status is reinforced by an extensive industry section and the Short Film Market, the most important marketplace in the world dedicated to short-form cinema. This year’s program featured eight Polish productions presented across competition and industry strands. Among them, Małgorzata Rybak’s animation "Experiences ans learning. And Parenting" received a Special Mention from the CANAL+ Kids Jury. The film was screened as part of the Youth Programme.
The protagonist of the animation is a curious child named “O,” who explores the world from a child’s perspective through everyday trials, mistakes, and discoveries. The film is a warm, universal story about learning, growing up, and the relationship with parenting – a short piece for both children and adults that reminds viewers that development is born from curiosity and the courage to experiment.
