POLISH ANIMATED FILMS AT INTERNATIONAL FESTIVALS IN APRIL
There won't be much going on at the beginning of April, but the second half of the month will see our animated shorts featured at numerous major European events.
The Easter holidays fell at the beginning of April, resulting in fewer events at this time. However, an exception is Renata Gąsiorowska's Pussy, which will be screened at the 2ANNAS Invitation Riga International Short Film Festival in Latvia.
The key European events that feature Polish animated films will only take place in the second half of the month A total of six of them have made it into the program of FILMFEST DRESDEN International Short Film Festival. Katarzyna Miechowicz's Headprickles has been selected for the competition section, while the remaining sections will present Natalia Durszewicz's Beasts Among Us, Marta Magnuska's Misaligned, Izabela Plucińska's 98 kg, Julia Siuda's Fury, and Maria Nitek's Hierophany. The second to last title will also be presented to audiences and jurors at the US-based Atlanta Film Festival.
Three Polish animated films have been invited to the competitive program of the Stuttgart International Festival of Animated Film. The audience at the German festival will get the chance to watch Misaligned, Headprickles, and Hierophany. The second film is also going to visit the Brussels Short Film Festival. The program of the Belgian event also includes Airborne by Andrzej Jobczyk; it will also travel to the United Kingdom for the Europe in Shorts Festival, while Toczek's short film will make its way to South Korea for the Busan International Short Film Festival.
Another German festival will take place at the end of April and beginning of May. The prestigious International Short Film Festival Oberhausen has invited Kasia K. Pieróg's animated film Sister to its competitive section.
