60TH KRAKOW FILM FESTIVAL AND KFF INDUSTRY WILL TAKE PLACE ONLINE!

The 60th edition of the Krakow Film Festival, like a few other important festivals such as CPH: DOX and Visions du Réel, will take place online. Along with the festival the KFF Industry for film professionals is also moving to the web.

KFF Industry is an industry event intended for film professionals present at the Krakow Film Festival. Due to the current pandemic situation, this year's edition of the festival will be transferred to the internet along most of the accompanying events - including KFF Industry. Documentary, animated and short documentary filmmakers and producers will meet with experts, programmers of international film festivals, foreign sales agents, distributors, representatives of film funds, television stations, online platforms and VOD as well as other decision makers from the international film industry. The events under this section will take place from June 1-6, 2020. The detailed program will be announced in April.

KFF Industry section will be open only to accredited guests from Poland and abroad. They will also have access to KFF Market - an online video library in which they will be able to watch all films from the Festival program and access to pitchings (Animated in Poland, Docs to Start and Docs to Go ), individual meetings with KFF Industry Meetings experts, conferences, lectures, panel discussions, as well as presentations of animated and documentary projects at various stages of production. The CEDOC Co-production Market and Doc Lab Poland workshops co-organized by the Wladyslaw Slesicki Film Foundation will also have a closed formula this year, as well as industry screenings for Docs to Buy distributors.

As every year, over 200 films from around the world will be showcased at the 60th Krakow Film Festival, which will take place in the new, online formula. Among them, documentaries, short feature and animated films, which will take part in three international and Polish competitions. 4 international juries will select winners, who can win a total of PLN 238,000 in prizes. Many other film will be presented in special thematic sections. Unlike VOD platforms, the festival films will only be shown during screenings specified in the schedule of shows available in Poland. After the screenings, as every year, there will be meetings with filmmakers and film protagonists - this time broadcasted on social media and on the festival's website.
