"YOU ARE OVERREACTING" AWARDED IN SWITZERLAND
Another award went to Karina Paciorkowska. This time, her animated film conquered the hearts of the jurors of the Doc'Anim competition at the Swiss festival Animatou.
The Animatou - International Animation Film Festival was founded in 2006 in Geneva. The festival promotes both local and international films. The organisers focus on original and diverse animated films. In the programme, you can find both classic productions as well as bolder, experimental films.
This year's edition of the festival was special for Polish animated film. Our country was the guest of honour at the festival, thanks to which the Swiss audience had the opportunity to get acquainted with approximately 30 Polish productions.
In addition to the special section, a large representation of our animated films could be found in the competitions. Apart from the award-winning animated film by Karina Paciorkowska, the following films also had a chance to win awards: "III" by Marta Pajek, "Bless You!" by Paulina Ziółkowska, "Tango of Longing" by Marta Szymańska, "Acid Rain" by Tomek Popakul, "Metro" by Natalia Krawczuk, "The Rain" by Piotr Milczarek and "Squaring the Circle" by Karolina Specht.
The award-winning film "You Are Overreacting" is a hand-drawn animated film, trying to ask questions about women's place in contemporary reality The film is inspired by everyday life, statements of public figures and by the way the media talk about women.
