"LOVING VINCENT" WITH GOLDEN GLOBE NOMINATION

Today the 75th Golden Globe Awards nominations were announced. The accolades are annually bestowed by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association. "Loving Vincent" by Dorota Kobiela and Hugh Welchman has been nominated in the Best Animated Feature Film category.

"Loving Vincet" is the world's first fully painted feature-length animation. It took 4 years and 115 painters, working in the studios in Wrocław, Gdańsk and the United Kingdom, to make it. The film directors are painter Dorota Kobiela and producer Hugh Welchmann, who in 2008 won an Oscar for the Best Animated Short Film with the film "Peter and the Wolf", and the script was co-written by Polish poet and novelist Jacek Dehnel. The film was produced by BreakThru Films studio, established in London by Hugh Welchamn, and Trademark Films. It shows life and death of one of the most brilliant impressionist painters Vincent van Gogh and was made entirely using the oil painting technique. Each film frame (12 fps) is a separate painting on the canvas, painted using the same technique the Dutch painter had mastered.

"Loving Vincent" directed by Dorota Kobiela and Hugh Welchman has already been sold to over 130 countries in the world. The film will be shown in, among others: France, China, Italy, Spain, Denmark, Finland, Norway, Sweden, Greece, Portugal, Japan, Thailand, Columbia, India, Russia and Brazil. "Loving Vincent" has already won awards at various festivals including Annecy International Animated Film Festival, Shanghai Film Festival and on December 9th the European Film Award.

The 75th Golden Globe Awards ceremony will take place on January 7th 2018. It will be hosted by an actor and comedian Seth Meyers.
