"A BLUE ROOM" AWARDED IN HONG KONG

On Monday, the début film by Tomasz Siwiński, "A Blue Room," won the award in the short film competition at the 39th edition of the Film Festival in Hong Kong. This is the first time the film is awarded in Asia.

The Film Festival in Hong Kong is one of the most important Asian festivals, presenting both short and feature-length films.  Every year, about 280 films, representing more than 50 countries, are chosen to screen as a part of the festival programme. The festival is the most important place for the premières of Chinese films, as well as an ideal platform for promoting Asian talents. This year's edition was held from March 23 to 6 April.

Animated film "A Blue Room" by Siwiński was the only film representing Poland in the short film competition. During the closing gala, the film was given the Jury Award for the best short film. The Asian award is the seventh foreign award for the film by the graduate of the Academy of Fine Arts in Krakow.

A man wakes up in a blue room.  He is in a trap from which he cannot escape. He is tormented by disturbing visions in which he is eye to eye with his own fears and memories.  Trapped in a blue room, he must come to terms with his past on his own. Only then will he regain his freedom.

The producers of the film by Tomasz Siwiński are Sacrebleu Productions  and Se-Ma-For.
