POLISH SHORTS AT THE FESTIVAL ETIUDA&ANIMA

The new edition of the International Film Festival Etiuda & Anima starts soon. In the programme of two international competitions, there are 14 Polish short films.

The International Film Festival Etiuda&Anima  is the oldest film festival in Poland, confronting the achievements of film and art school students from around the world and the creative output of artistic animated film-makers - both professionals, students and independent film-makers. The programme of the anniversary edition of the festival ends with numerous workshops, lectures and promotions, as well as the international industry conference "Animated, feature and documentary film: about the synergy of connections," dedicated to contemporary interfusing of the usually separate genres of film-making.

In the oldest competition ETIUDA, 29 student etudes from 15 countries will participate, which will be evaluated and awarded the statuettes of the Dinosaurs by the jury under the chairmanship of the director Janusz Zaorski. Among the selected productions, there are 6 Polish short films: "Bitten" by Helena Oborska, "The Crossword" by Jan Bujnowski, "Fascinatrix" by Justyna Mytnik, "Lolo" by Michał Piotrowski, "The Turtle Cave" by Klaudia Fołga and "Strawberry Boys" by Michał Toczek.

In turn, in section ANIMA, that is, the international short animated film competition, there are 67 films competing for the Jabberwocky statuettes. The Jury under the chairmanship of Igor Kovalyov will have the opportunity to award one of Polish animated films. The following films are invited to the competition: "Amelia and Saturnin" by Daniel Zagórski, "Last Supper" by Piotr Dumała, "Sunset" by Marcin Giżycki, "The Rain" by Piotr Milczarek, "JM" by Stanisław Buczkowski, "Vitae Azilia" by Joanna Wapniewska, "Portrait of Suzanne" by Izabela Plucińska and "Story" by Jola Bańkowska.  

Traditionally, during the festival, there will be an award ceremony for an outstanding artist and teacher. This year's winner of the Golden Dinosaur is Hieronim Neumann, the leading representative of the experimental strand in Polish animated film. 

The 26th edition of the Etiuda&Anima is held from the 19th to the 24th of November.
