KRAKOW FILM FOUNDATION NOMINATED FOR THE POLISH FILM INSTITUTE AWARDS

The Krakow Film Foundation, the organiser of the Krakow Film Festival, received a nomination for the Polish Film Institute Awards in the category "Film Promotion Abroad."

The Polish Film Institute Awards are a special distinction in the film industry, appreciating the work of people and institutions not connected with film production. These are the only Polish awards, given in several categories for significant achievement in popularising and promoting Polish cinema and facilitating the access to Polish cinema. The Polish Film Institute Awards have been given since 2008. The candidates can be submitted by cultural institutions, film schools, municipal corporations, non-governmental institutions connected with culture and other entities and persons operating in the cultural sector.

This year, the Krakow Film Foundation has been nominated for "the 15 years of the Krakow Film Foundation – promoting Polish films abroad." The Krakow Film Foundation was established 15 years ago on the initiative of Krzysztof Gierat by the Apollo Film Institution. The main areas of the Foundation's activity are the production of the editions of the Krakow Film Festival and the international promotion of Polish documentary and short films.

The festive Award Gala of the Polish Film Institute Awards is held on the 17th of September, 2019, during the 44th Gdynia Film Festival.

The Krakow Film Foundation is already the winner of two Polish Film Institute Awards, which it received in 2008 and in 2010.

The full list of the nominees is available on the website of the Polish Film Institute.
