QUEEN LEOCADIA
POLISH TITLE: KRÓLOWA LEOKADIA
A documentary-animated film introducing the life and work of the forgotten, outstanding Polish puppet theater artist Leokadia Serafinowicz. The production featured the Artist's co-workers, as well as prominent theater scholars such as Agnieszka Koecher-Hensel and Halina and Marek Waszkiel. The fictionalized part of the film is unusually based on live-action puppet animation, using, among other things, original puppets by Leokadia Serafinowicz, which have survived to this day. The film shows a strong portrait of women in the theater and puppet theater as an unusual tool of metaphor and artistic expression.

Reżyserka teatralna i filmowa. Absolwentka Akademii Sztuk Teatralnych w Krakowie, Filii we Wrocławiu, Szkoły Filmowej Wajdy w Warszawie oraz Szkoły Teatru Iwana Wyrypajewa, studiowała także w Rose Bruford College of Theatre and Performance w Londynie. Specjalizuje się w teatrze wizualnym i lalkowym. Eksperymentuje z formą i łączy ze sobą różne języki, pracując na styku gatunków. Od debiutu w 2017 wyreżyserowała ponad 35 spektakli w teatrach instytucjonalnych i niezależnych w Polsce i za granicą, a także krótkometrażowych reportaży i dokumentów. Autorka projekcji video do własnych spektakli oraz operatorka wizualnych form eksperymentalnych.
