POLISH TITLE: JESIEŃ 2026

What do you associate autumn with? Birds flying south, mist, cooler evenings that arrive all too quickly, or perhaps Władysław Podkowiński’s painting ‘Frenzy of Exultations’? In the latest edition of his poetic series, Wojciech Sobczyk reimagines our ideas and fantasies about this season to create a captivating, sensual, and at times unsettling audiovisual poem. From images of the changing autumn landscape, the animator extracts a universal tale of human nature and man’s place and role in the world.

animated film director, illustrator and photographer. He was born in 1974 in Piotrków Trybunalski. He graduated from the Faculty of Graphic Arts at the Academy of Fine Arts in Krakow where he currently works as an academic at the Animated Film Studio. His animated films A Ladder (1997) and Spring 1999 (2000) have been screened at numerous festivals and film reviews in Poland and abroad.
