YOU CAN'T BEAT THE MOVIES
POLISH TITLE: NIE MA TO JAK W KINIE
Facing the final countdown to the end of the world the characters in the film have different ideas on how to spend the last three minutes of their lives – they dance, play tennis, try to spread the gospel, gamble in a casino, walk a dog. When a comet hits the Earth, there will be no hope, just like in Lars von Trier’s Melancholia, which Palusińska’s animation refers to. An apocalyptic vision is juxtaposed with simple ‘pixel’ graphics and ironic music by David Kingfire.
