POLISH SHORT FILMS AT BOGOSHORTS

The 16th edition of BogoShorts begins today. This year at the festival in Bogota the audience will have a chance to see six Polish short films.

The Colombian festival has been immensely popular for years. Before it became what it is today, for 10 years it had been operating under the name of In Vitro Visual and el Festival Internacional In Vitro Visual. The present Bogotá Short Film Festival takes place at the beginning of December and presents the best short films from around the world. BogoShorts is not only about film screenings and competitions, but also "Short in works" industry meetings, workshops, meetings with filmmakers and promotional activity also at international markets.

What distinguishes BogoShorts from other film festival is a famous Santa Lucia statuette which is handed out to the festival winners. This year one of them can go to a Polish director. Four Polish films were invited to the international best animation competition: "Bernard" by Anna Oparkowska, "Thicket" by Adrianna Matwiejczuk, "Room" by Michał Socha and "Bless You!" by Paulina Ziółkowska. In international best fiction film competition we can find "Skinny" directed by Daniel Stopa, and in Panorama - Marta Pajek's animation "III".
