POLISH PROJECT AWARDED IN ANNECY
“The Birds of Paradise” is the title of the new short animation project by Tomek Ducki, which received the NEF Animation Prize for the best pitch at the Annecy International Animation Film Festival.
Each year, the creators of original animations still under development present themselves during Mifa Pitches. The pitch sessions are divided into four categories – Feature Film, Short Films, TV Series & Specials, and the so-called Digital Experiences.
Tomasz Ducki's project was recognised in the short film category. The award will enable him to participate in international workshops held in France. It will grant the director an opportunity to further develop his film.
"The Birds of Paradise” is set among a vast ocean of nothingness, where a small flock of birds create their territory by defecating. One day they find a mysterious rubber boot with magical powers on an island made of their excrements. The project is co-financed by the Polish Film Institute.
