The 14th edition of the International Animation Festival Fest Anča in Slovakia started at the beginning of the month. The competitive section will include Anastazja Naumenko's “We Hope You Won't Need To Come Back”, Sara Szymańska's “Five Minutes Older”, and Yelyzaveta Pysmak's “My Fat Arse and I”, while Agata Szwarc's “Pathological Seamstress – Bad Day”, Renata Gąsiorowska's “Home in a Shell”, and Daria Kopiec's “Your Own Bullshit” will be screened out of competition. The last two titles (this time shown in-competition) will also be presented to viewers at the ShorTS International Film Festival in Italy. The French PIAFF Paris International Animation Film Festival will be held at the same time. Its program will also include the screening of Julia Orlik's “I'm Here”.
Exceptionally, this year's Cannes festival will be taking place in July. Natalia Durszewicz's “Beasts Among Us” was invited to the prestigious Cinefondation Selection. You can read more about it here.
A large representation of Polish films can be found in the program of the 33rd FilmFest Dresden International Short Film Festival. “The Little Soul” by Barbara Rupik and “My Fat Arse and I” by Yelyzaveta Pysmak will be seeking the jury's recognition, while viewers will have the opportunity to see Betina Bożek's “The Land of Whim”, Urszula Domańska's “The Windows of That House”, Anastazja Naumenko's “We Hope You Won’t Need To Come Back”, and Marta Koch's “Such a Beautiful Town” in non-competitive segments.
