Toothless is an essay film with a narrative. It was constructed with the drawings of old anatomical books, some images from esoteric magazines and a bunch of public domain internet video's soundtracks. Dragging from the individual to the collective unconscious, it tells the story of an existential journey: the journey of a toothless heroine in her pijamas.

Andrea Guizar »

Andrea Guízar is filmmaker and visual artist born in 1989 in Mexico City. She has directed the films: Construction (2013), Mosaico, el vals del bazo (2015), Spa End of the World (2016),  A Cat’s Consciousness (2017) and Toothless (2021). She's a graduate from the Animated Films and Special Effects Department at the Polish National Film School in Lodz. Andrea currently lives in Mexico and is part of SOMA's educative programme.
